Victorian Underskirt

Our favourite petticoat for everday use.
Made from cotton fabric, this petticoat has a flat front, ruffled hem, and gathered back trimmed with rows of frills. This gives a pleasing shape to any skirt, and will provide excellent fullness with even heavy fabrics. It is particularly suited to skirts with an elaborate or bustle- style back, as the frills give the necessary support; it also looks elegant worn as a two-piece with an overskirt or apron (shown here with a velvet Apron Overskirt.)
The cotton fabric is sturdy and hard-wearing as well as being comfortable to wear. This is a thoroughly tested design that will withstand regular use without losing shape or fullness.

The standard length for the Victorian Underskirt is 20 inches (50cm). This is a suitable length for wearing under most clothes; ideally it should be a couple of inches shorter than your skirt, so it doesn't show at the hem. If you would like a different length, please state preference when ordering.
